Fringe Picks is an independent guide to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. We are not the Fringe Society, not the box office, and not affiliated with edfringe.com. We try to collect as little about you as possible. Here's exactly what we hold and why.
If you don't make an account
Your plan (bookmarked shows, chosen times, the days you mark) is stored only in your browser (localStorage on your device). We never see it. Clearing your browser data clears it.
We collect anonymous, aggregate usage analytics (page views, rough device/region) via Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics to understand what's useful. This isn't tied to your identity. A show's view / ticket-button counts are stored against the show, never against you.
If you make an account
We store the email address you sign in with, and your plan (bookmarks, chosen performances, available days) so it syncs across your devices. No name, no payment details, no marketing profile.
Authentication and this data are handled by Supabase (hosted in the EU). Access is protected by row-level security so only you can read or write your own plan.
If you claim a show page
Performers can claim their show's page. If you do, we also store the claim itself (your account email and the verification note you write us) so we can check it by hand. Once approved, the page content you add (a blurb, a photo, links) is public on your show's page. You can edit it any time, and deleting your account removes the claim, the page content and any photo you uploaded.
How we use it
Only to run the service: sign you in, and save and sync your plan. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or send marketing email. The only emails we send are sign-in / account emails you triggered.
Third parties
We rely on: Supabase (accounts + plan storage), Vercel (hosting + privacy-friendly analytics), Google Analytics (aggregate usage). Ticket links take you to edfringe.com, which has its own privacy policy. We don't run third-party advertising trackers.
Your control
Signed in, you can view and delete your account and all its data at any time from your account page. Deleting removes your login, your stored plan, and any show-page claim or content you added. Without an account, just clear your browser data.

Retention
Account data is kept until you delete your account. Anonymous analytics are retained per Vercel's and Google's standard periods. We don't keep backups of your plan beyond what's needed to run the sync.
